The Company is geared to meet the global challenge post implementation
of TRIPS in 2005. BSV has consciously spent a substantial
portion equal to approximately 7% of its turnover on R&D
efforts, which materialises into non-infringing, patentable
technologies for the Company. BSV has consciously developed
a healthy Patent portfolio comprising of seven International
Patents. These International Patents are in various stages
of examination and registration and filing in various countries.
BSV's ability to create Intellectual Property
portfolio lies in its research team and its infrastructure,
which have the ability to take an initial idea from the basic
development through pre-clinical studies, clinical trials,
and regulatory clearances to the commercialization of the
product. Due to in-house capabilities to perform the various
research activities, reduced efforts and cost savings are
possible. The Company's business strategy is designed to provide
a continuing pipeline of proprietary new generation therapeutic
products and approaches through ongoing research programmes
as well as through collaborative research programmes.
